The Dancing House- Prague
The Dancing House was inspired by two famous dancers named Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and was built by Vlado Milunić from 1992-1996 (4 years). This opportunity began during World War ll when the previous building was bombed and the property was bought by Nationale -Nederlanden insurance in 1992, which decided that Vlado’s ideas should be put to use. Václav Havel hired Milunić to build the structure that has become a center for social life in Prague, Czechia. This building revolutionize Deconstructive Architecture although it did not have a direct influence on a specific building. I chose this house because it reminds me of a ballerina doing a combre and provides my love of ballet within a architectural style.
